It is important to recognize the difference between Greek particle 3756 ou and Greek particle 3361 me and is just another example of why we must defer English words to the Hebrew and Greek words from whence they came. Greek particle 3361 me denoting conditional negation was translated into “not” in “God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect” and “the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded” applies only to this earth age as does conditional “not” in previous “they without us should not be made perfect” during this earth age but during the “thousand years” “Lord’s day” which shall occur between this earth age and the eternal age that follows. Greek particle 3361 me was also translated into “not” in “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil”. English “to fulfil” was translated from Greek verb 4137 pleroo which was translated into “be fulfilled” in “But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled that thus it must be” and “That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed”?
