Romans 7:1 King James Bible Know ye not, brethren, for I speak to them that know the law, how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?

English “the law” was correctly translated from Greek masculine noun 3551 nomos but there is flesh law and there is spiritual law and the latter displaced the former for those God said “I have reserved to myself”. Greek masculine noun 3551 nomos was translated into “the law” in “For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ”. Jesus spoke the words “But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause”  into “law” in “And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses”  “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace” “For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin” “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death” “That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit” “Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be”. Please note that English words flesh and carnal were both translated from Greek feminine noun 4561 sarx being flesh. Please note that the flesh mind is God’s enemy. “Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified”. Please note that English “justified” above, below and throughout the bible were translated from Greek verb 1344 dikaioo meaning to make right. Please note that we are not made right by our faith in God. We are made right “by the faith of Jesus Christ” in us pursuant to God’s will. Please note only God can perform the action of Greek verb 1344 dikaioo and only the direct grammatical objects of God as their only grammatical subject can receive the action performed. “For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth” “And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect” “For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise” “Wherefore then serveth the law? Millions of erroneously professed born again Christians have no impetus to “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”. It is ironic that seven thousand of God’s “election” will “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” until they take their last flesh breath whereby, during the “thousand years” “Lord’s day”, will cause more than fifteen billion human beings “to come unto the knowledge of the truth” “That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him”  “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour” “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth”. Please note the preceding bible verse fulfills God’s promise to Abraham and fulfills God’s covenant with Israel. “And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time” “And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son” “That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies” “And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice” “And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob” “For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins” “As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers’ sakes” with “fathers’ ” being “father Abraham”  and the patriarchs of  “the twelve tribes of Israel”.

English words as long as he liveth in Romans 7:1 above were translated from Greek preposition 1909 epi denoting superimposition Greek pronoun 3745 hosos meaning until such Greek masculine noun 5550 chronos being time and Greek verb 2198 zao meaning to live either in spirit or in flesh, as documented in Matthew 4:4 “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” and Matthew 22:32 “I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living”. There is flesh life and death. There is spiritual life and death. The finite number of “election” God said “I have reserved to myself” are spiritually alive because they and God in “covenant” killed their flesh thoughts and feelings in deference to God’s spiritual thoughts and ways. There is flesh law. There is spiritual law. English bible phrase “as long as he liveth” in Romans 7:1 above was mistranslated from the four Greek words noted above meaning until such time God superimposes spiritual life, which is predicated upon God’s “election” superimposing the same truth God superimposed unto them unto “the rest” of God’s children, being every other human being ever born.

The apostle Paul is trying to explain in his letter to the Romans how it is possible for a human being to be spiritually alive by killing their flesh thoughts and feelings in deference to God’s spiritual thoughts and ways while their flesh body is yet alive.  The finite number of “election” God said “I have reserved to myself” have “fulfilled” the law “For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled” while “the rest” of the world were blinded “the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded”. I  appreciated the humor of comparing the flesh Old Testament/covenant/contract/law with a dead husband in Romans 7:2-4 and then contrasting the flesh dead husband with God’s spiritual New Testament/covenant/contract/law later in the seventh chapter of Romans. “The law of Moses” is flesh law. “The law of God” is spiritual law. I can’t preface the seventh chapter of Romans without prefacing Paul’s English bible phrase “in me that is, in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing”. English “good thing” was translated from Greek adjective 18 agathos describing God alone. Matthew 19:17 Mark 10:18 and Luke 18:19 all confirm there is none good/agathos but one, that is, God. God’s inherent good/agathos is not inherent in flesh human beings; not even the apostle Paul. Greek verb 15 agathopoieo tells us, if we flesh human beings divest ourselves of our flesh thoughts and feelings in deference to God’s spiritual “thoughts and ways” we can do good things/ agathopoieo. Greek feminine noun 19 agathosune promises that God will share His “goodness” with God’s direct grammatical objects, being the “election” God said “I have reserved to myself”. “Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power” “For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth”. English words “truth” and “true” throughout the Bible’s New Testament were translated from Greek noun 225 aletheia and Greek adjective 227 alethes both from a compound of Greek 1 a negative particle synonymous with English un or not and Greek verb 2990 lanthano meaning to hide by covering. Flesh thoughts and feelings cover and hide God’s inherent spiritual truth. The last four verses in the bible warn us of the consequences “If any man shall add unto” or “if any man shall take away from the words of the book”. The Old Testament was first handwritten in Hebrew on animal skin parchments. The New Testament was first handwritten in Greek on papyrus scrolls in 325 AD. Grammatical subjects other than God have mistranslated God’s original Hebrew and Greek words into a plethora of languages including English. English bible words reflect flesh thoughts which must be uncovered to reveal God’s inherent spiritual truth. Hebrew and Greek bible words reveal God’s inherent truth when we study every verse containing each Hebrew and Greek word whereby God can define each word for us.

Greek Strong’s numbers take precedence requiring only the number [to search] while a Strong’s Concordance Hebrew word search must include H like H1234 which will render Hebrew verb 1234 baqa` which was translated into 18 different English words but was best translated into English “to breach”. One Hebrew word translated into eighteen different English words explains why God is not present in English bible words. God is present in Hebrew and Greek words as documented in Hebrews 10:7 fully and correctly translated in previous posts. 

Since the beginning, flesh death has divided God’s children into heaven and earth with roughly the same number currently being in heaven as on earth. God came to earth in the embodiment of Jesus Christ two thousand years ago to divide us into his grammatical objects and into grammatical objects of grammatical subjects other than God. “Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division”. English “Suppose ye” was translated from Greek verb 1380 dokeo meaning to think flesh thoughts while God’s “election” think God’s spiritual thoughts. The etymology of the English word logic is from the Greek masculine noun 3056 logos correctly translated into English “Word” in John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God”. The only logical process to teach all God’s children the same thing with “us” and “we” in the following scripture being the finite number of “election” God said “I have reserved to myself” were not “predestinated” in the beginning, their predestination is predicated upon doing God’s will defined below, which was predestinated in the beginning. English “for” was translated from Greek preposition 5228 huper meaning over as grammatical subjects are over their grammatical objects. Jesus died on a cross to be our direct grammatical subject. English “due” was translated from Greek adjective 2398 idios qualifying one’s own time. During this earth age “the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded”. The role of God’s “election” during this earth age is to document God’s process whereby a few of “the rest” can participate in God’s process. The role of God’s “election” during this earth age is also to demonstrate to as many as possible how “the rest” can uncover flesh thoughts contained in English bible words to reveal God’s inherent spiritual truth whereby they can come unto the “mediator” between God  and men. Most of “the rest” will “come unto the knowledge of the truth” during the “thousand years” “Lord’s day” which will occur between this earth age and the eternal earth age that follows. Jesus is the one mediator between God and men. There are not 4,351 mediators between God and men. The “so great a cloud of witnesses” of Hebrews 12:1 are not mediators between God and men but they both try to displace God as mediator and grammatical subject. This is the crux of the twelfth chapter of Hebrews and all of the Hebrew and Greek words throughout the bible. English bible words which do not confirm God’s will reflected in this paragraph are screaming “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”.

Hebrews 12:22 “But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels”

These English words are reasonably well translated but the following verses will enhance understanding of “Sion”. “Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded” “And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob” “For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins” “As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers’ sakes”.

Hebrews 12:23 “To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect”

English “church” throughout the bible were translated from Greek feminine noun 1577 ekklesia translated into English “assembly” in “Some therefore cried one thing, and some another: for the assembly was confused; and the more part knew not wherefore they were come together”. Greek feminine noun 1577 ekklesia is from a compound of  Greek preposition 1537 ek denoting origin and Greek verb 2564 kaleo meaning to call “For many are called, but few are chosen” with “chosen” being translated from Greek adjective 1588 eklektos which was translated into English “elect” and “chosen” and is the adjective form of  Greek noun 1589 ekloge being God’s “election”. The origin of “the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven” is God. I know not that any of the world’s 4,351 religions are of God’s origin.

English “perfect” in Hebrews 12:23 above and throughout the bible were translated from  Greek verb 5048 teleioo as was Greek adjective 5046 teleios from Greek neuter noun 5056 telos being the objective God has called all human beings to attain and is the conclusion or completion of said objective. All who “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” every verse containing Greek words 5046-5056 should understand that aforementioned Greek words mean to complete transition from flesh thoughts and feelings to become entirely God’s spiritual thoughts and ways. To keep God’s “election” humble it is not possible to know if their transition is complete until they take their last flesh breath.

Hebrews 12:24 “And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel”.

English “mediator” was translated from Greek masculine noun 3316 mesites.  Greek verb 3315 mesiteuo meaning to arbitrate and ratify a “covenant” between God and God’s exclusive grammatical objects being God’s “election” was translated into English “confirmed it” in “Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath” “That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us” “Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil” “Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec”. English “willing” in Hebrews 6:17 above was translated from Greek verb 1014 boulomai which was translated into “will” in “All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him”and “But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will” and “Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures” and into “willing” in “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance”. English “counsel” in Hebrews 6:17 above was translated from Greek noun 1012 boule which was translated into “this counsel” in “And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought” and conversely into “the counsel” in “In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will”. Human counsel precludes us from the counsel of God. Grammatical objects of human counselors do not know God’s will and certainly do not do God’s will which is a prerequisite to receive God’s counsel.

English “covenant” above was translated from Greek feminine noun 1242 diatheke which was 13 times translated into English “testament” and 20 times into “covenant” and is the disposition of a contract between God and God’s exclusive grammatical objects. The Old Testament was a flesh contract. The New Testament is a spiritual contract. “Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second”. English “taketh away” was translated from Greek verb 337 anaireo which was 10 times translated into “kill” 8 times into “slay” and twice into “put to death”. God’s “election” are dead to the flesh Old Testament and visa versa which explains the bible verses that follow: “Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him” “Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord” “Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God” “And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness” “Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances” “For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God”.

Hebrews 12:25 “See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven”

English “refuse” and “refused” above were translated from Greek verb 3868 paraiteomai which was translated into “intreated” in Hebrews 12:19 “And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more”.

Folks who sit in a church pew as grammatical objects of flesh grammatical subjects can not be expected to understand God’s process pursuant to God’s will: “That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him” “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour” “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth”.

Hebrews 12:26 “Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven”.

“Whose voice then shook the earth” from mount Sinai. From “mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem” God shall “shake not the earth only, but also heaven”.

Hebrews 12:27 “And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain”.

Hebrews 12:28 “Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear”:

English “kingdom” was correctly translated from Greek feminine noun 932 basileia. I bring this to your attention because Greek feminine noun 932 basileia is the noun form of Greek verb 936 basileuo which was translated into English “reigned” in Revelation 20:4 “And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years” and into “reign” in Revelation 20:6 “Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years” and into “they shall reign” in Revelation 22:5 “And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever”.

Hebrews 12:29 “For our God is a consuming fire”.

John the Baptist helped us understand God’s “consuming fire” when he said “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire”.

God’s Holy Spirit does not burn up people but rather flesh works not qualified to be part of God’s foundation of “the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem” as confirmed in 1Corinthians 3:11-15 “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ” “Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble” “Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is” “If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward” “If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire”.

When God is the grammatical subject performing the action of Greek verb 5087 tithemi God places us where God wants us predicated upon God’s will exemplified above where some human beings are placed as the foundation of God’s kingdom while others are placed to “stumble at the word”. English “chosen” above were both translated from Greek adjective 1588 eklektos which was translated into English “elect” and “chosen” and is the adjective form of Greek noun 1589 ekloge being God’s “election”. English “generation” above was translated from Greek noun 1085 genos better translated into English “the offspring” in “Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device”. God’s “election” are “the offspring of God” “the sons of God” and the “many brethren” of “For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren”. English “he did foreknow” was mistranslated from Greek verb 4267 proginosko which means that God caused his “election” to know God’s truth before the rest as confirmed in “the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded” whereby “the election” will cause “the rest” “to come unto the knowledge of the truth” during the “thousand years” “Lord’s day” “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour” “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth”.

Ephesians 2:19-22 “Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God” “And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone” “In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord” “In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit”.

2Timothy 2:19 “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity”.
