English “grace” emboldened in Romans 11:5 and 6 below were translated from Greek noun 5485 charis which is the temporary bestowment of God’s spirit. Greek noun 5486 charisma is the permanent endowment of God’s spirit. God’s process of distribution was covered in analysis of Romans 11:3 and explains why Greek noun 5485 charis has nothing to do with works while Greek noun 5486 charisma is always subsequent to works.
Romans 11:5 “Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace”.
Romans 11:6 “And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work”.
