English “is of” emboldened in Romans 10:5 “For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them” was translated from Greek preposition 1537 ek denoting origin. Moses, Joshua and other flesh human beings added doctrine, decrees and ordinances [590 laws] to the ten commandments written in stone by the finger of God. The first commandment is Exodus 20:3 “Thou shalt have no other gods before me” which was translated from Hebrew יִהְיֶֽה־ לֹֽא אַחֵר אֱלֹהִים עַל פָּנִים which Jesus fully explained in prior post Preface Romans Seven. What follows in this paragraph is the condensed version of Jesus’ full explanation. Mark 12:28-33 “And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?” “And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord” “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment” “And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these” “And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he” “And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices”. English “mind” emboldened above was translated from Greek noun 1271 dianoia from a compound of dia denoting the channel of an act and noia being God’s spiritual thoughts confirming that God’s first commandment commands that every human being’s heart soul mind and strength be entirely God’s spiritual thoughts and ways which is God’s definition of “love” in Romans 8:27-29 and 1Corinthians 8:3-6 which God will reconcile after reconciling the rest of Romans 10:5. The scribe stood in front of Christ and changed Jesus’ word “mind” into the scribe’s word “understanding” which was translated from Greek σύνεσις which was transliterated into Greek Strong’s Concordance noun number 4907 sunesis which denotes union with the scribe’s flesh understanding. Anything, anyone and everyone other than God in spiritual form or in the embodiment of Jesus Christ are the “gods” of Exodus 20:3 “Thou shalt have no other gods before me” and Deuteronomy 5:7 “Thou shalt have none other gods before me”.
