Romans 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

English “hope” in Romans 5:5 was mistranslated from Greek feminine noun 1680 elpis being the expectation of a known future event. Greek verb 1679 elpizo is the verb form of Greek feminine noun 1680 elpis. Greek verb 1679 elpizo is best translated into English “trust” in 1Timothy 4:10 “For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe”. Greek verb 1679 elpizo subjectively means to instill trust in future events and objectively means to trust the process of the grammatical subject performing the action of Greek verb 1679 elpizo pursuant to future events and objectives.
