English “not” in Romans 3:17 above and “no” in Romans 3:18 below were both correctly translated from Greek particle 3756 ou denoting absolute negation.
I bring this to your attention because English “not” and “no” have also been translated from Greek particle 3361 me denoting conditional negation exemplified by “not” in Matthew 7:1 “Judge not, that ye be not judged” is qualified by Romans 14:13 “Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way”. I know of none of the world’s 4,351 religions who do not “put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way”. It is important to recognize the difference between Greek particle 3756 ou and Greek particle 3361 me and is just another example of why we must defer English words to the Hebrew and Greek words from whence they came. Greek particle 3361 me denoting conditional negation was translated into “not” in “God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect” and “the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded” applies only to this earth age as does conditional “not” in previous “they without us should not be made perfect” during this earth age but during the “thousand years” “Lord’s day” which shall occur between this earth age and the eternal age that follows. Greek particle 3361 me was also translated into “not” in “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil”. English “to fulfil” was translated from Greek verb 4137 pleroo which was translated into “be fulfilled” in “But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled that thus it must be” and “That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed”?
“While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled” into “filled” in “And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God” “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit’ “Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God” “For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding”. God performs the action of Greek verb 4137 pleroo unto God’s “seven thousand” “election” “the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded”. God fills God’s “seven thousand” “election” with what God needs pursuant to God’s will.
