Romans 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
English “longsuffering” was translated from Greek noun 3115 makrothymia from Greek verb 3114 makrothymeo which was translated into “is longsuffering” in 2Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” with “us-ward” being God’s “election”.
English“repentance” in Romans 2:4, 2Peter 3:9 above and throughout the bible were translated from Greek noun 3341 metanoia from a compound Greek meta and noia being God’s spiritual thoughts. Greek meta is fully defined in prior posts. Greek meta was translated into both English “with” and “after”. God’s “seven thousand” “chosen” “election” of whom God said “I have reserved to myself” are “with” God during this earth age. God’s “election” will cause “the rest” “to come unto the knowledge of the truth” “after” this earth age, during the “thousand years” “Lord’s day” which will occur between the end of this earth age and the eternal earth age that follows.
