Paul Tells the Romans Paul Now Sees Through God’s Spiritual Eyes

Romans 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

English “know” in Romans 7:14 and 7:18 as well as “known” in Romans 7:7 were translated from Greek verb 1492 eido meaning for a grammatical object to see through the eyes and know through the thoughts of their grammatical subject. God was and is Paul’s grammatical subject.

English biblical “carnal” has been translated from Greek adjective 4559 sarkikos describing flesh things and from Greek noun 4561 sarx being flesh best defined in Romans 8:1-13.  Greek adjective 4559 sarkikos is best defined by “fleshly” in “For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward” and into “carnal things” in “If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things”
